Will this work for a diesel engine?

Yes, the system works just as well for diesel. I actually think that the system works better on diesel engines because there generally are no computerized control devices and the hydrogen can go into the engine and improve the efficiency even more. In tests, it worked even better for diesels, reaching up to 119% increase in fuel economy.
